Run-DMC
founder Reverend Run's son, Joseph
"Jojo" Simmons, was reportedly arrested last night (May 8)
on multiple drug charges and resisting arrest when caught in New York City purchasing marijuana.
The
incident allegedly took place around Manhattan's
Upper West Side.
Jojo Simmons, 19, got caught
buying marijuana from a street pusher on Wadsworth Ave. in Washington Heights
and made things worse by getting rough with the officers, police said. They
said Jojo was behind the wheel of his BMW, which has "JoJo"
embroidered on the head rests, rolling a joint when the narcs came up and
knocked on his window. (New York
Daily News)
Upon being discovered, Simmons made an
attempt to escape the scene.
We're told he tried to get
away by throwing his car into reverse, and nearly backed into the officer's
car. Simmons Jr, known as JoJo on the MTV reality show "Run's House",
was booked for resisting arrest, attempted reckless endangerment, marijuana
possession and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. (TMZ)
Simmons has begun making a name for himself
within the hip-hop world in the past few years.
As one of the stars of
"Run's House," Simmons uses the show as a way to market his group Team
Blackout. Simmon's hunger and ambition comes alive when asked when we
can expect to hear something from Team Blackout. "Hopefully, soon,"
he says excitedly. "Whatever label wants to come holla at me and my team,
we're ready, we're ready to be heard in the game. I talked to my uncle [Russell
Simmons] about opening my own production company, getting my own label
up (Logik), and getting all my artists and my team out there." (JoJo's

His father is known for being a pioneer in
hip-hop along with spreading words of wisdom via interviews, websites and his
own reality show.
Rev Run also shows his deep
spiritual side by posting "Rev Run's Words of Wisdom" daily on his
website. In late 2005, Run signed a deal with MTV for the reality show
"Run's House," a look into the daily life of Rev Run's family. (All

News: Rick Ross Unmoved By Eminem, "I'm
Not Impressed By The Music I'm Hearing"

Rick Ross
recently toned down his past taunts towards Eminem,
even admitting to being a fan, but he said the rapper's return from a five-year
hiatus has delivered less than impressive results.
Aside
from his take on Em's music, Ross also said his rap beef with 50 Cent
has grown old.
"I'm not impressed with
the music," Ross said of Em. "I'm still a fan of his, but I'm just
not impressed with the music I'm hearing," Rick said. "But hopefully,
you know, I'ma buy his album when it come out, if it don't disappoint me too bad.
You know, we'll see...I done put out a number one album, and you know, I
finished those guys. G-Unit was dropped from Interscope. They
still can't dress, they're monkeys, but that'll never change...Where I come
from, you need AK-47s to go far. Anything short of that, we'll label you a
girl, kick you in the butt and send you home, and that's pretty much what I
did." (Much Music)
Ross recently caught heat after labeling Slim
Shady a "honkey" due to his Caucasian background.
"N*ggas cut
throat," he declared in a recent video. "You know now they saying
'monkey' could be black-on-black racial, keep saying monkey. So the only way I
can fix that, Eminem, you're a monkey. He's really a honkey, but that's racial.
You's a monkey, you n*ggas monkeys...'Wood Face,' it's no longer Curly, now
you're Wood Face. Eh, Whoo Kid, I found out you're making 300 a show, my deejay
makes way more than you. You're nobody. Do me the biggest favor, hit me
up." (Spiff TV)
He previously said he would be willing to
battle Em due to his "victory" over 50.
"I mean, I'm a fan of
Eminem," he said in an interview. "I'm a fan first and foremost. But
after defeating Curly, my confidence is at an all-time high. Maybe before I
wouldn't have challenged him, but I'm contemplating it now. The game is
commending me for my victory. That's all I wanted to do was ... punish the
opposition. I think I've done a great job and I'm gonna continue to do that. I
think he's a bigger and better artist than what Curly is. So if I was l ooking
to fulfill that excitement or that rush, that's who I have to address." (MTV)
The Miami
rapper's words as of lately have caught the attention of G-Unit's Lloyd
Banks.
"You got fat, corny
n*ggas like Rick Ross, it's just so easy to actually make records," Banks
explained in an interview. "He's gotta ride his wave as long as he can.
You know, the funny part, he's always talking about his success and sh*t that
he did, he need to check my record-selling background. This the sh*t that be
killing me, shut up n*gga. I got the diamond tester too, I'm gonna have it at
the next awards show too...[His album signing in New York,] it was like minus two people
there. That n*gga had barricades lined up like he Justin Timberlake
or something. Who the f*ck is you, n*gga...That n*gga's not even half of what I
am [lyrically.] That n*gga nowhere near where I'm at, man. You crazy? I'm on
another planet somewhere, better get the f*ck outta here with that sh*t."
